چکیده
The thorough test programme and numerical simulation were conducted to examine the buckling behaviour loading capacity of cold-formed steel (CFS) built-up section members subjected axial compression. In programme, folded-flange channels grades G500 G550 designed assemble novel compressive members. Two types sectional profiles formed by composing with self-tapping screws. A total twenty-two specimens member lengths varied from 300 1500 mm compressively loaded under pin-ended supports. initial geometric imperfection measurements, rig arrangement, procedure results fully reported. simulation, extensive parametric study incorporating 224 CFS columns was performed further generate data covering a broad range configurations parameters. Experimental Investigation on Cold-formed Steel Wall Plate System
A series of tests on cold-formed steel (CFS) wall plate system subjected to uplift force at the mid span of the wall plate is presented. The aim of the study was to study the behaviour and identify the modes of failure of CFS wall plate system. Two parameters were considered in these studies: 1) different dimension of U-bracket at the supports and 2) different sizes of lipped Cchannel. The lipp...
متن کاملPerformance of Stiffened Slender Built up Steel I-Columns
Abstract—The present work illustrates a parametric study for the effect of stiffeners on the performance of slender built up steel Icolumns. To achieve the desired analysis, finite element technique is used to develop nonlinear three-dimensional models representing the investigated columns. The finite element program (ANSYS 13.0) is used as a calculation tool for the necessary nonlinear analysi...
متن کاملOn Cold-Formed Steel Construction
Powder-actuated (also referred to as low velocity or powder-driven) fasteners are commonly used to attach cold-formed steel framing members, usually a track, to a concrete or structural steel support. Although commonly used, their behavior is less well understood than other fasteners such as screws, bolts and welds. The AISI Cold-Formed Steel Design Manual does not explicitly address powder act...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation on Cold-Formed Steel Foamed Concrete Composite Wall under Compression
A series of tests on cold-formed steel foamed concrete (CSFC) composite walls subjected to axial load were proposed. The primary purpose of the experiments was to study the mechanical behavior and identify the failure modes of CSFC composite walls. Two main factors were considered in this study: 1) specimen with pouring foamed concrete or without and 2) different foamed concrete density ranks (...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Investigations on the Behavior of Steel-reinforced Concrete Columns Subjected to Eccentric Loading
Steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) columns, which are classified as composite columns, became the most widely used in recent years; because of their extensive advantages over the reinforced concrete and the steel columns. In this paper, the ductility index and its influential factors were explored to investigate the behavior of SRC columns. A straightforward approach was then proposed by establish...
